After 9/11, The Fallen Firefighter Foundation of North Carolina came to the aid of the FDNY in a big way. They donated 3 vans to the Fire Family Transport Foundation, which are in-service today. Vans 7, 8, and 9 are still part of our fleet, which takes care of injured firefighters and/or their families. It has come time for this foundation and the FDNY to give a little something back.
On March 7 Salisbury, NC, firefighters Victor Isler and Justin Monroe were killed fighting a fire in a lumberyard. Victor, a native New Yorker, had just moved down to Salisbury last year to become a full time firefighter. Before leaving the area, Victor worked for the FDNY as an EMT and was also a volunteer with the Deer Park Long Island Fire Department.
Victor will be buried on Long Island Monday. The Fire Family Transport Foundation will be there to assist our brothers from North Carolina with anything they need. The 3 vans that they so graciously donated to us after 9/11 will be used to help in any way necessary over the weekend. Engine 343, which was also donated by The Fallen Firefighter Foundation of North Carolina, will be used in the funeral on Monday. Please visit their website: http://www.ncfff.org/
We are honored to do whatever we can do for cities and towns around this country that did so much for us after that horrific day in 2001. May Victor Isler rest in peace.
Please remember to take a moment to thank all firefighters for what they do every day.

FDNY Captain John Gormley recently returned from a tour in Afghanistan. While he was there, we got in touch with him and sent 2 boxes stocked with our FDNY “Leathernecks” t-shirts and some “NYC’s Bravest Salute America’s Bravest” t-shirts. (well over 6 dozen).
We recently received a Certificate of Appreciation dated June 6th, 2007 (click the image for a larger version).
June 6th, as you well know, is the day of the D-Day invasion, so we feel doubly honored the certificate is on that date. John let us know that the troops love to have a nice clean t-shirt after a day of patrol in those hot and humid regions of the war.
If you wish to donate t-shirts, please let us know and we can forward an address to you. See the following link for a related story, 10th Mountain Division Receives Gift from FDNY in Afghanistan.
We soon will be featuring our t-shirts on this webpage, including ordering information. Our t-shirts will be available soon.

The FDNY Fire Family Transport Foundation, in collaboration with the North Carolina Fallen Firefighters Foundation, and through the hard work and dedication of ART-Aid, honored the nine Charleston, South Carolina Firefighters who made the supreme sacrifice with a banner — the Angel Banner.
